This message will self-destruct in 5 minutes. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is directed by Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) and stars Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson. In the film, Ethan Hunt (Cruise) discovers an underground organization called the Syndicate. Hunt must attempt to destroy the Syndicate, with the help of his team. All the while, the Head of the CIA (Alec Baldwin) is attempting to shut down the IMF, the government organization Hunt works for.
I've only seen two M:I movies: the first one and Ghost Protocol, and this film is just as good, if not better, than those two movies. From the trailers, this film seemed like an awesome non-stop thrill ride, which is why people got so pumped for this movie. Well, this film is an awesome non-stop thrill ride, which made it a fantastic watch and a great time at the movies.

To start, the action in this film is absolutely fantastic. Whenever you watch a Mission: Impossible movie, it adds to the experience that you know that Tom Cruise is doing all of his own stunts. There are many great and memorable action sequences in this film, which is absolutely awesome. The plot for this film was not fleshed out as much as Mission: Impossible or Ghost Protocol, but it totally worked. With a simpler plot, the film moved along nicely, giving more time for kick-ass stuff. However, while the action was amazing, there seemed like a bit too much in there. The action scenes were long and there were a ton of them, and while they were cool and did progress the story, could've been cut down.
As for the acting in the film, Tom Cruise did a fantastic job as always in the lead. He continues to be a fantastic and relatable action hero, while also doing a TON of cool stunts. Rebecca Ferguson did a great job in the film as well. She played the "secretive" character of the bunch, and you could really get into her role do to her performance. Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames were cool, as always. Both are awesome characters in the M:I series and it was fun to see them appear. Also, Simon Pegg stood out as always as the hilarious Benji in this film. Pegg is so good at playing the British sidekick who can crack one-liners (Star Trek as well) that he always steals the show in whatever he is in. To top it off, Alec Baldwin was in this movie, and he did a good job playing the Head of the CIA as well. It was fun to see him in the film, especially since I had NO IDEA that he was in the movie to begin with.
Overall, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is a great action film, and one that I would totally recommend to any M:I fan or any action fan in general. The action is well-filmed and well-done, Tom Cruise gives a cool performance in the lead, and the plot is well-done as well. While the movie is not perfect, with a weak villain and action sequences that could've been shorter, it is still a really fun movie and one that I would give an A-.
